ISSUES: THE ENVIRONMENT

I care deeply about protecting our environment. In order to preserve and protect the safe and healthy communities in the 1st Legislative District, I will work to support green energy solutions to help reduce our region’s carbon footprint, while also preserving our open spaces, parks, wetlands, streams, lakes and wildlife.

My top environmental priorities are: 1) encouraging responsible energy use among consumers through education and incentive programs; 2) protecting the precious and fragile ecosystems of the Puget Sound region; and 3) ensuring that public transportation, land use and future civic growth are based on environmentally-sound foundations.
